School visions and values

 Achieving together

  • To teach each pupil/student the skills they need to achieve as high a standard of independence as possible in thought and action.
  • To equip the pupils/students to be able to express choice, exercise control over themselves and their environment and realize their full potential as members of society.
  • To provide a modified curriculum, differentiated to meet each pupils/students need, that is delivered at a suitable place to allow them access to a relevant, broad and balance education with opportunities for practical application of acquired skills.
  • To ensure the acquisition of appropriate communication skills which will give the pupils/students the fullest possible active participation in their day-to-day experiences and enhance their social and emotional growth.
  • To monitor progress to ensure the pupils/students are appropriately challenged in order to facilitate personal development, enhance their quality of life and allow their own individuality to develop.
  • To nurture and encourage the development of positive, caring relationships between pupils/students, their peers and the staff.
  • To create a secure environment within which the pupils/students will develop a sense of self esteem and feel confident to advocate for themselves.
  • To build a working partnership with parents/carers which will inspire confidence and promote mutual support and consistency between home and school.
  • To co-operate positively with other professionals and specialist services in order for the needs of the whole child to be addressed.
  • To encourage two way interaction between school and the local community to promote inclusive opportunities for, and attitudes towards, our pupils/students.
  • To provide quality preparation, advice and guidance for the pupils/students and their familities during the transition from school to adult life.
