The school uses a number of measures to give an overall picture of how a pupil is progressing. Data recording using summative assessment systems help us measure progress against expected outcomes for pupils who have the same starting point. However, it is critical that a number of other measures are used to give a holistic picture of how a pupil is doing and on occasions 'Hard Data' doesn't give the bigger picture.
At Grove Park, we use a number of indicators to support our judgements of how well a pupil is doing and this are highlighted above.

Vocational learning
57% of students in Year 14 had a work experience placement in Year 14, developing a range of skills
1 student went to Blacklands Farm carrying out maintenance work for 1 day a week over two terms working unaccompanied. Positive reports were received about his attitude and work ethic
1 student went to Tiddlers Nursery for a morning a week working with children
1 student went to Waitrose developing skills in a range of tasks associated with the retail industry
1 student worked in a sheltered café developing skills in a range of tasks associated with the catering industry.
